A Holiday Tradition

Festivus for the Rest of Us

That's right, us, the marginalized ones, for whom Christmas and Hannukah are nothing more than meaningless rituals. A festival whose patron saint is Thomas Bernhard, whose sacred metal is aluminium... Can't imagine why it's not more popular.

Todo cover. There's a silly little local publication called TODO, whose December cover produced a chuckle in me and may be of interest to you too!

And C-Cat, did you mean Samuel Beckett, and not Thomas Bernhard?
I read something about Krapp's last tape and whatnot

Bernhard, because one of the rituals of Festivus is the airing of grievances, and nobody rants like Bernhard... But Beckett wouldn't be incongruous either, he's a whinger.

Todo - would be nice if it were online. Californians have so much more fun than the rest of us.

The object of your allusion may be closer than it appears. Read this post for a brief history of the festivus episode.

YS, thanks for that, I had no idea... Maybe it does make sense in retrospect, absurdity and all.
